Poverty and
Its Eradications
Introduction
it
is a confounding and comprehensive term as there is no firm definition
of poverty. The idea of poverty varies from country to country. In fact it is
physical matter. Those afflicted with poverty have insufficient and poor
clothing. There houses are so narrow crowded , cold and dirty that life is
painful as well as comparatively brief.
Poverty stricken people have
insufficient incomes for their survival. They are degraded because they live
below the standard of society. A famous writer called poverty
“A file provided for the teeth of the rats of
reform.”
Another
critic says that
“Poverty is
both damned annoying as well as disgrace for any society.”
Today worth
and value is measured by the per sonic, financial status and wealth which he
owned. Now money is the main motivating force and chief criterion to judge
ability and social status of a person.
Causes:
The causes of poverty are very
complex. Poverty is caused because the country is poor, soil is less fertile , forest
are thin ,no water system to watered the crops, the sub soil barren etc. A
country may be poor if it is newly established over a greater part of world
this is the explanation of poverty.
Secondly the
unequal distribution of wealth is the cause of poverty when money will remains
in few hands then lower class will go in to the depth of the valley of poverty.
Thirdly poverty is caused by the lack of capital as
“Finance is the life
Blood of business “
No business
can be established without it. Evidently low income allows no savings and
without savings there is nothing to invest in. without investment there can be
no income advancement, so the poverty becomes perpetuated.
Unemployment
is also major cause of poverty .inflation is also cause of poverty low income
and high prices unable poor to survive. Fourthly the major cause of poverty is
over population. Population is increasing day by day and resources are less.
Lastly poor and faulty economic policies bring poverty for the masses.
Eradication:
In spite of much progress tall claims
to prosperity, poverty still exists in the world. People are the denominators
of progress. No progress is possible unless we root out poverty .For
eradication poverty certain steps may be suggested.
Firstly we should be very careful in our
economic policies. Policies must be framed in a way that masses may get the
greatest benefit. Industrialization and agriculture must have equal share .The
prices should be brought down.
Secondly, a
large part of the budget of a country is spent on defense. We should prevail
good relations in the world and spent money for the welfare of people.
Thirdly,
there should be some checks on the capitalists and many facilities for the
laborers.
Lastly,
through family planning the growth of population kept under control.
