A STREET HAWKER
A street hawker is generally a poor man. He carries his stock-in-trade on
his head. He goes from street to street, carrying out the names of articles or
fruits he has to sell. Children come out of their houses, and ladies stop him
in order to buy his fruits, sweets, vegetables or clothes. Girls are glad to
buy earrings, bangles and laces from him. In this way, he finds several
customers, wherever he goes. He demands for everything twice the price that he
would actually be ready to accept. Nevertheless, he is a useful member of
society.
