OUR SCHOOL PEON

Fazal-i-Ilahi is our school peon. He is nearly fifty years old. He comes to school two hours before it opens. He supervises the work the work of the sweeper and the water carrier. He cleans our desks and chairs with great care. He rings the bell. He sits on a stool beside the headmaster’s office. He circulates orders amongst the teachers. He looks after the school property. We tip him on many happy occasions.
