ALLAMA IQBAL
Allama Iqbal is my favorite author and poet. He was one of the greatest
thinkers of his age. He was born at Sialkot in 1870. He completed his study of
the holy Quran in
his boyhood. He was a good student and Sayyed Mir Hassan, his
professor of Persian and Urdu in the Murray College, Sialkot; greatly helped
him developed his talent. He got his M.A. from the government college Lahore,
as a favorite pupil of Dr. Arnold. He went to Europe for his studies and
returned home as a barrister. He gained great reputation as a poet with a
message for the Muslims. He presented to the Muslims of India, the picture of
Pakistan in 1930. The Quaid-e-Azam turned his dream into a reality. He passed
away in Lahore on the 21st of April, 1938. He was buried near the
stairs of the badshahi mosque. May his soul rest in peace. Amen!
