THE CAMEL
The camel is an ugly animal. It has four clumsy
legs, and a very long arch-like neck. It has a big hump on its back. It has a
short tail. It has soft pads under its feet. It can run fast over heaps
of sand. It is, therefore, called “the ship of desert”. It lives on the leaves of trees. It has got a strong sense of smell. It can do without water for several days. It can travel 20 to 30 miles a day. It can carry heavy loads from one place to another.
